Am I required to take this class online?
NO. While we now offer an online option for our parenting class, we believe that the in-person class is preferable as it provides participants with the opportunity to interact with the instructors as well as other participants. This includes being able to address your specific questions which may not be covered by the online content. You can find the date, times and locations of our in-person classes on the “schedule and locations” page on our website.
Do some courts/districts require individuals to obtain approval before taking the parenting education class online?
DUE TO COVID-19, All Colorado Courts have informed us that the requirement for approval for the online class is currently waived. This may change as counties return to normal, and if in doubt, you should double check with your attorney or the court directly.
How long will it take to complete the class?
It takes approximately four hours for most people.
Can I start and stop the online class as it is convenient for me?
Yes. You can log out any time and start where you left off when you log back in.
What happens if I choose to let this class play in the background or if I get distracted and stop watching?
There are bulbs that periodically pop up during the lectures that are meant to engage your learning. If you fail to respond to them in a timely manner, the lecture will automatically start over from the beginning. It is best to pay attention and log out of the class if you become distracted.
What is the cost?
The cost of either class is $65. We offer a sliding scale fee for those that qualify. Please email parentingafterdivorce@gmail.com to request a fee reduction if you feel you may qualify.
Will the online class work on my computer?
If your computer’s operating system is older, it may not. The online class will work reliably on the following or higher operating systems: Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.7, IOS 6 and Android 4. The recommended browsers are Internet Explorer 9, Chrome, Firefox Current and Safari 6. Also, please be aware that internet speeds need to be sufficient in order to stream video lectures.
Who do I call for technical assistance if I experience a problem while taking this class?
PAD can not help. Please contact Digitalchalk, who hosts our online class. You can reach them at support@digitalchalk.com or 877-321-2451.
